According to the globe model of the Earth, the distance from Sydney to Santiago is similar to the distance from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv (11,340 km vs 12,130 km). However, according to the flat Earth model, the distance from Sydney to Santiago (left) is about twice as far as the distance from LA to Tel Aviv (right).
One way to decide which model is more likely to be true is to check the direct flight times between these cities and, if the flat Earth is correct, it should take about twice as long to fly between Sydney and Santiago than LA and Tel Aviv (unless the pilots and airline companies are in on it).
